CYNDI PEDERSON

With over 13 years experience in state government and 6 years managing non-profits, Cyndi is an accomplished executive manager with strong legislative experience. Cyndi has developed an expertise in concept development, strategic planning, and implementation. Her background includes the Governor's Office, the Department of Cultural Affairs & The Des Moines Social Club.

 

Over her career, Cyndi has served on many boards and committees including the Young Women's Resource Center,  After School Arts Program (ASAP), and a regional arts organization, Arts Midwest. 

 

Born and raised in Iowa, Cyndi received her Bachelor of Art Degree from Iowa State University as well as certification in public administration from Drake University. Cyndi and her husband John live in Des Moines and enjoy spending their free time with their three daughters and four grandchildren. Cyndi is an avid baker, a competitive dominoes champ, and a perpetual maker of "honey do" lists.

JOHN PEDERSON

After serving on the Des Moines Fire Department as a paramedic, John began his lobbying career over 28 years ago for the Iowa Professional Firefighters Association. He spent 12 years as a legislative liaison for Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller and 4 years as the Senate Legislative Liaison for former Governor Tom Vilsack. He spent the next eleven years as a contract lobbyist.

 

Over the years, John has developed strong relationships with legislators, elected officials, state agencies, and the Governor's Office. He has an expertise of the internal processes of the state government and works diligently to ensure his clients needs are met.

 

His client list includes: the Governor’s office, the Attorney General’s office, Verizon, the Iowa Fire Fighters Association, Iowa Hospital Association, AEA- Area Education Associations, several medical groups, HP- Hewlett Packard, UPS, and various non-profit organizations.

 

Born and raised in Lake Mills, Iowa, John received his Bachelor's Degree from Iowa State University. John lives with his wife Cyndi in Des Moines and are proud parents of 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren. In his free time, John enjoys golfing, wood working, and working on the never-ending "honey do" lists.
